Terms and conditions

1. The service

AI Connect for Volvo ("the service") is operated by Oggel Codelabs, Netherlands ("we"). It reads vehicle data from Volvo Cars through the Volvo Cars Developer Portal APIs, on behalf of users who have explicitly authorised it with their Volvo ID, stores those readings, and makes them available to the same user through a web dashboard and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoint protected by a personal token.

2. Your account

You need to be at least 18 and the registered keeper or an authorised user of every vehicle you connect. You are responsible for keeping your password and your MCP token private. Anyone holding your token can read your car's data; revoke it in the app if you suspect it has leaked.

3. Your Volvo ID authorisation

We never see your Volvo ID password. Authorisation happens on Volvo's own login page and results in tokens that you can revoke at any time, in the service ("Disconnect") or through your Volvo ID account. We request read-only scopes only. The service cannot lock, unlock, start the engine or send any other command to your car, and it does not request location data.

4. Use of the data

Readings are stored to build a history for your own analysis. They are not sold, shared with third parties or used for advertising or profiling. The AI assistant you connect reads the data on your request and on your behalf; what that assistant's provider does with it is governed by their terms, not ours.

5. Volvo Cars

The service is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Volvo Cars. Use is subject to the Volvo Cars Developer Portal Terms & Conditions and the Volvo Cars API Terms & Conditions. Volvo, the Iron Mark and the Volvo word mark are trademarks of Volvo Trademark Holding AB.

6. Availability and fair use

The service is offered as is. We may limit how often a vehicle is read to stay within Volvo's API allowances, and we may suspend accounts that abuse the service or the API.

7. No warranty

The data is what the vehicle reports; it may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on it for safety decisions. To the extent permitted by Dutch law we are not liable for damage arising from use of the service.

8. Ending

You can delete your account at any time in Settings; that deletes your readings and tokens. We may end the service with 30 days' notice by email.
